Seattle’s newest nightclub Stage will be officially opening its doors next weekend on Saturday, September 12 after much anticipation. Located in Pioneer Square at the former location of the defunct Volume Nightclub, Stage promises to usher in a new era in the Seattle nightlife experience. The grand opening had been delayed for weeks due to construction scheduling issues and a debacle with a neighboring establishment, FX McRorys Sports Bar. According to Stage owner Chuck Wang, the sports bar had petitioned the Washington State Liquor Control Board to prevent him from receiving a liquor license. With a petition of his own, Wang received over 1000 signatures in support of Stage. Following the success of his petition, FX McRorys’ original petition was revoked. We were recently invited to tour Stage for a sneak peek and let’s just say, we were very impressed with what we saw. Adorned in LED lights and a new killer sound system, Stage will have an open music format with something to satisfy every club-goer, ranging from EDM, Top 40, trap, and hip-hop. Like its name entails, the Stage team hopes the venue can serve as a stage to showcase Seattle’s best local talents. Perhaps what we were most impressed with was Stage’s major emphasis on the VIP experience. The nightclub features a staggering 16 VIP booths, including one private VIP room overlooking the main dance floor. Two out the three bars will feature exclusively-crafted cocktails for club patrons feelin’ a little fancy. Stage is also unveiling an interesting concept with bottle service. If you aren’t able to finish your bottle, the servers will write your name on it and lock it away for safekeeping. You’re welcomed to come back and enjoy the rest, up to a certain date. Wang believes this service will help prevent patrons from over-drinking. Along with offering a later closing time at 3 a.m., the team have pulled out all the stops in order to differentiate Stage from other nightclubs, bars, and hotspots in the Emerald City. The grand opening will feature local favorites like Instant Party, Catch24, and more. Be sure to follow Stage on Facebook and Twitter to get the latest updates on events and happenings.
