Porter Robinson Takes a Virtual Self Hiatus

What’s Next For Porter Robinson?

Porter Robinson’s eye opening Virtual Self Bus Tour recently ended. The final stop was in Dallas on October 4th. Luckily, this is not the end of Virtual Self. According to Robinson’s tour schedule, the next Virtual Self show is the weekend of February 15. What will he be doing until then?

Upcoming Shows:

There are nine upcoming Porter Robinson DJ sets on his tour schedule. Tickets are already sold out for both his Brooklyn Halloween show and his San Diego NYE Show. In traditional Porter Robinson sets, no Virtual Self songs are a part of the performance, and vise versa during Virtual Self shows. Expect to hear selections from Worlds and Spitfire. Glance at some of the recent 2018 tracklists for Porter Robinson DJ Sets and find out what kind of music to expect.

New Music:

Robinson’s most recent release was the 5 track E.P released in November 2017, Virtual Self. What about music besides Virtual Self? In a February Interview with, “The Fader” Porter answers, “I still have so much Porter Robinson music that I’ve been writing too.” We can only guess as to what ideas Porter has been experimenting with, and are anticipating hopefully hearing them during a set in the future.

After exploring into the many dimensions of Virtual Self, the sky is really the limit. Porter has historically reinvented his sound. We expect that his newest release under the Porter Robinson name may be more experimental. It’s clear that he has a wide range of styles, and we certainly support Robinson releasing any genre of music that he pleases.

On the other hand, there are rumors about upcoming Virtual Self music on the Virtual Self Website. One can navigate through the numerous Pathselector and Technic Angel released tracks and ultimately find songs listed as ???. Potentially hinting that new Virtual Self music is in the works.

Time will tell what kind of new exciting releases Porter Robinson has in store for us. Whether it’s a Porter Robinson or a Virtual Self release, we are ready for a thrilling ride.
