While soccer isn’t the most popular sport here in North America, it is everywhere else! With the biggest sporting event on the planet (the 2018 World Cup) kicking off, soccer fever has reached critical mass as 32 countries across six continents compete in Russia to see who’s men’s national team is the best of them all (sadly, the US, and Canada, failed to qualify). One legendary dance musician is getting in on all the fun and has teamed up with one of the world’s most popular football teams to collaborate on a track built like none other.
House legend MK, Marc Kinchen, joined forces with London-based Chelsea Football club on Beat Ball. Celebrated as “a house track formed from two different worlds”, Detroit native MK creates an instrumental by capturing sounds from a soccer ball that is kicked, thrown, splashed, and deflected by some of the team’s best players. It’s hard to describe how this all works- but it does, and it is genius! See for yourself in this behind-the-scenes footage:
Promoted as MK’s next single, Beat Ball currently doesn’t have a release date, but we are eager to hear the finished product!
