Those of you who are used to the hard-hitting sounds of Internet Friends or Bonfire may be in for a bit of a rude awakening with Knife Party’s newest track. For some of us our first reaction was “this is Knife Party?!” while others are of the mindset that it’s just what happens when you have Rob Swire doing the vocals. Whether you love the track or hate it, it’s definitely a departure from the usual aggressive style that Knife Party has come to be known by. Honestly, this leaves us with the question of whether this is really going to be on the new album or if this is yet another troll to throw us off the scent of what the album will really be.
It’s no secret that there is a great amount of overlap between the members of Knife Party and Pendulum, but we’ve always loved that their styles are so different. With this new track the differences are much harder to discern. We don’t want to say too much to cloud your judgment about the release however, so give it a listen and tell us what you think. We’re aware that no artist is going to always sound the same forever, but how do you feel about this departure from the typical Knife Party sound?
