London electronic producer Darren J. Cunningham (a.k.a. Actress ) has announced his new album, Ghettoville. It will be available on a variety of formats (LP Boxset, 3xLP, CD, DL) and the release is slated for January 28th via Werkdiscs/Ninja Tune.
Ghettoville follows 2012’s R.I.P., but it is rumored to really be the sequel to Actress’s 2008 debut, Hazyville, which will get a remastered vinyl release as part of the Ghettoville box set edition, which also includes a 32-page art book.
Actress has recently hinted Ghettoville may be his final LP in a press release from Werkdiscs. The newly published release from Actress sites creative problems as reasons for ceasing music production. “Four albums in and the notes and compositions no loner contain decipherable language.” You can read Actress’s statement in full, here.
