Could you imagine playing for five hours into the sunset atop a 100-meter wind turbine? Alex Parker can. The DJ performed this stunt to help raise awareness for NEVERSEA, whose aim is to be the first music festival fueled almost entirely from the green energy of wind turbines. With thanks to a recent partnership with CEZ, Europe’s largest wind park, it’s now possible.

This year’s NEVERSEA Festival will take place in Constanta, Romania from July 4-7. Within a press release put out by organizer’s their Head of Partnership, Bogdan Rădulescu speaks more on the partnership.

CEZ & NEVERSEA is an example of good international practice that shows that two companies in totally different industries can achieve extraordinary results together by pooling resources that really turn into ideas and courageous initiatives to contribute to protecting us and the environment in the medium on a long term.

The area controlled by CEZ will be a 100% green area of the festival. In addition, more steps are in place to prevent, reduce and offset any adverse effects. Firstly, by encouraging recycling with selective waste collection, as well as replacing disposable plastic cutlery and cups with glasses and recyclable items.

Do you think that the PNW could follow in NEVERSEA’s footsteps and host our own green festival? Share your thoughts on Facebook and Twitter!
