Enigmatic Artist 1788-L Releases Premiere Mix

The enigmatic up-and-coming artist (and rumored android) 1788-L released their debut mix on BBC1 Radio’s legendary Annie Nightingale Presents radio show this week. What followed was a selection of otherworldly beats and 1788-L’s signature electro sound. According to YourEDM, “there were 5 IDs…plus plenty of live edits” a satisfactory mix of new and familiar sounds indeed. There has been quite a bit of chatter surrounding the trend of masked artists (Marshmello, anyone?) But 1788-L bucks the trend, leaving the mask behind while still maintaining an air of mystery around their true identity.

1788-L has collaborated with Rezz and Ekali, remixed the likes if RL Grime and Kraftwerk and shows no sign of stopping the automation. They have yet to make a Pacific Northwest appearance but made their festival debut on the Das Energi lineup in Salt Lake City and their West Coast debut at California’s Brownies and Lemonade 2018. Needless to say, we’ll be keeping our ears to the ground for the possibility of a PNW appearance and new material from this rare talent.
