Canadian electronic music duo Zeds Dead have joined forces with up-and-coming Canadian producer Hunter Siegel to create a track different from most of their respective repertoires. LOUD is a healthy dose of electro-infused house most enjoyed when the title of the track is taken into account. A track sure to be in DJ sets everywhere, Zeds Dead and Hunter Siegel have created a true summer festival anthem to kick of festival season.
The track itself has a unique feel, combining the unique styles of the three producers. Intertwining the smooth and energetic melodies of Zeds Dead with the old school yet new sound of Hunter Siegel, LOUD is the perfect way to begin any new summer tunes playlist. Zeds Dead, composed of Dylan Mamid and Zach Rapp-Rovan (aka DC and Hooks), have been playing the track on tour recently and receiving great feedback. The collab has also been the works for a while now, according to an ‘ask me anything’ the trio did Wednesday night before the release.
It is also the first major collab for Siegel, who has a slew of remixes and mixes available on his Soundcloud. Although no original tracks are out, that may soon be chanigng. A cryptic tweet was sent out earlier this week, with ‘Waiting Up’ and the date May 14th being all that was included.
LOUD may have also received some inadvertent advertising, thanks in part to fellow Canadian producer deadmau5. The Canadian duo recently kicked off their video series ‘Zeds Dead Coffee Breaks’, a take on the Jerry Seinfeld internet hit ‘Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee’. Fellow Canadian deadmau5 has been up to similar activities, in the form of ‘Coffee Run!’ and seems to take some offense to the similarity.
Zeds Dead’s response was quick, and they used the bright light that is shone wherever Joel Zimmerman tweets or speaks as quality free advertising.
The duo then announced the release of LOUD shortly thereafter, capitalizing on the ‘controversy’. Let us know what you think of the new collab by posting to our Facebook, Twitter, or commenting below!
