Can Zedd get any more impressive? After his Clarity EP was given five-star iTunes reviews including “literally perfect,” to having his fans from LA to Mumbai screaming out his lyrics, it seems as though Zedd has accomplished more in his 5-year electronic career than most ever will in their lifetime. But, being the classically-trained musician that he is, Zedd will always fall back on his piano-playing roots to begin, or return to, his highest priority: The music. And after a short session in the studio with a few fellow musicians, Zedd and friends came out with one completely stellar, raw and uncut acoustic iTunes Session EP that is sure to take over the spotlight in the “literally perfect” praise category.

Here’s what Zedd had to say about it on Facebook:
A few weeks ago I went to the studio with a few other musicians. Everyone grabbed an instrument and we started PLAYING MUSIC. I’ve re-interpreted half of my album live in one take. Please take a second and check it out.
Getting back into the booth for the project was Spectrum phenom vocalist, Matthew Koma, whom provided an even more raspy and heartfelt performance than the original. The Zedd-discoverd vocalist Miriam Bryant stripped down her own original, Push Play, with Zedd on the keys, live-recorded drums and electric guitar to build up the energy. She also took an impressive take on Adele’s Set Fire To The Rain, where, coincidentally, the piano chord reprise is the same as the chord progression to Spectrum.
Speaking of Clarity, we thought the original couldn’t get any more raw and soul-slashing, but Foxes made her return to the mic for the uncut session, accompanied by Matthew Koma’s harmonies, on a bed of banjo plucks for a simplified folk feel. Jessica Sanchez and a steel guitar turn Hourglass into a Disney-like fairy tale sonnet; and lastly, Ms. Haley Williams re-imagines Stay The Night from a carefree party-plead to a sincere, openly-honest desire for love we all can relate to.
