Not only famous for his classic EDM hits, award-winning melodies and having his name waxed into Dillion Francis’s chest hair, turns out that Zedd is a LEGO aficionado too! Miami-based sculptor Dante Dentoni installed an intricate LEGO artwork into one of the walls of Zedd’s own house earlier this week. Zedd took to Twitter to announce how pleased he was with Dentoni’s work, stating:
In love with this new art installation at my house by Dante Dentoni!!!! ?
He replaced a part of my wall with LEGOs and built in a bunch of little hidden rooms, including @OmniaLasVegas, an @PlayOverwatch room (Hanamura pt. 2), an alien abduction world and much more pic.twitter.com/8Juaz2qgN6— Zedd (@Zedd) January 5, 2019
While some might wonder what a LEGO sculpture has to do with electronic music, there’s much to be said about the intersection of visual art and EDM.
Consider the intricate stages at Electric Daisy Carnival or the astounding usage of projection mapping at Shambhala Music Festival’s Pagoda stage. Bass Coast in BC and Lightning In a Bottle CA, in particular, are famous for their installation pieces and work with local artists to create their unique spaces.
