“Music produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without.” ― Confucius, The Book of Rites
We hope this exploration has been a sound representation of music’s powerful impact on the human mind. We’ve all experienced physiological transformation from music in one way or another, and though each one of us is hardwired a bit differently, we are all very much the same. When we allow our slight differences, like our personal tastes in music, to turn into judgments and generalizations of an entire group of people, we are no better than the naysayers of rock n roll, an era which now is highly regarded in American music history. We don’t know what’s to come of the rising trend of EDM, but we can say that we are profoundly moved by it, and we hope everyone finds their ideal style music that speaks the most to them, whatever genre that may be.
For many of us, music is the outpouring of feelings that we can’t find the words for. It is our religion, our medicinal healing, and our only connection of understanding at times. There is so much to explore in the entire universe of music, and no genre (or sub-genre) should need to defend itself. Isn’t that the most beautiful aspect of music in the first place, the diversity rich in both influence and new ideas?
There is no perfect human, and there is no perfect style of music. Much like love, it is the soul’s connection of these imperfections that can create such a profound bond. And that is not a bond worth breaking, by those of us who don’t feel it or understand it. We must simply find our own, and respect what speaks to the souls of others.
