Dirty South is a legend in the dance music scene and is well respected by artists from all genres. Last year, he amazed the world with his own short film inspired by his own album, With You. Well this year, Dirty South made a long-awaited return to Avalon Night Club on the 4th of July and laid down an amazing 4 hour and 44 minute set. Veterans of the dance music scene are starting to lean toward these extended sets, or open-to-close sets, because people seemed to have lost what a DJ set should be doing: taking you on a journey. Dirty South has done just that with this amazing journey through the various elements of House music.
The added bonus to this whole mix is that he has worked in a preview of his new track Find A Way, which will be dropping on August 28th. We aren’t going to tell you when he drops it, because you really should listen to the entire mix. Think of it like an Easter egg hunt, only you are only looking for one egg along a 444-mile-long winding road. Maybe we’re conflating too many metaphors, but we think you get the point. Oh I did we mention that this entire mix is a free download?

This will be a perfect set if you’re having a bunch of friends over for an evening time roof top or back yard BBQ. Just make sure you have the proper sound system to complement the mastery of this mix. What are your thoughts on this four-hour journey? Do you feel that it is better to have DJs perform longer sets in order to really showcase their unique talents? Tell us in the comments below.
