European trance veteran Woody van Eyden is showing he still has ‘it’ in 2014. The Dutchman is starting off the new year with his, and label Future Sound of Egypt’s, first release of the year. Van Eyden has produced for and with trance legends such as Armin van Buuren and Paul van Dyk, while also having several notable mixes with Alex M.O.R.P.H. throughout his decades long career.
The track is titled Saripadanisa and was announced as a follow up to 2013 release Nangulan. The track was released Januaray 6th and is available exclusively on Beatport. Future Sound of Egypt label founders and trance mainstays Aly & Fila also announced a ‘filthy mix‘ of the track by Bjorn Akesson was also released. There are three other versions available as well, including a dub mix, radio edit of the original mix, and a radio edit of the filthy mix. Aly & Fila will also be featuring on the A State of Trance 650 – ‘New Horizons’ five disc album, with an hour-plus long mix. The album is to be released on January 30th.
Saripadanisa is uplifting and fast paced, with the beat carrying you along like a magic carpet throughout the nearly eight-minute long track. The intense and energetic base of the song lends emphasis to the soulful Hindi singing that shows itself at various points. Even when the track takes an unexpected turn (around 3:25) and slows into a form of electronic hypnosis, the upbeat intensity returns quickly, almost as if it were never gone.
Let us know what you think of the track and if you’ll be including Saripadanisa in your early trance playlists for 2014.
