Fire Power, Wolfgang’s 5th Symphony and Undertaker are a few tracks that really have their imprint on electro throughout the past decade. We remember jamming out with some friends on the way to USC 13 here in Seattle. Wolfgang Gartner was headlining. The volume in the car was turned all the way up, we were waving our hands as if a composer would to Wolfgang’s 5th Symphony, smiles on our faces and the windows rolled down. That ended up being a night for the books and still is one of our favorite shows to date.
Nearly 4 years later thousands of Wolfgang Gartner fans were startled with a Facebook post he left for all to see with only two words, “I’m out.” So many questions to be answered and the only one we truly cared about was “is he done producing music?” The answer, he’s far from done. Earlier today he released a long post outlining some recent fine points on his career as an artist, something we should all be excited for.
We don’t have to worry about what Dance Music would be like without one of its most unique characters. Even better, we get to await Wolfgang Gartner’s forthcoming album. Hopefully in ways it helps redefine parts of Dance Music and inspire thousands of other artists in the world to do something different.
Tune into SiriusXM Electro at 8pm PST and listen to Wolfgang Gartner talk about his new track Unholy with Austin Kramer. You’ll even get to listen to the premiere of Unholy in it’s full uninterrupted form.
