The outskirts of Dufur, Oregon host a magical experience called What The Festival?! for three days in mid-June. People from all over the United States come together to celebrate individuality, self-expression, art, music, community, endless amounts of fun, and more.
The foundation of the festival lays in the 250-acre estate called Wolf Run Ranch. Just 90 miles outside of Portland, the ranch has sweeping views of Mt. Hood and Mt. Rainier, nestled in between green pastures and towering evergreens. The landscape blends into the festival grounds, becoming just as important as the seven stages, the silent disco, the interactive art walk through the enchanted forest, and the biggest pool party on the west coast.
“People really have an opportunity to take themselves to new places if they allow themselves to do that… everything is here to allow them to expand themselves.”
For needed moments of rest or introspection, there are hammocks nestled into trees, a hookah lounge underneath a patch of evergreens, meditation classes, workshops, and ridiculously comfortable art installations to rest your dancing feet.
Most importantly, what makes WTF?! so wonderful is the community. Everywhere you look people are having the the best time of their life. You become friends with strangers and every interaction is based on mutual respect and positivity. What The Fest just released their official after movie, bringing back all of the feels from the one of the best three-day festivals in the Pacific Northwest.
