Texas-based supercharged bass trio WAVEDASH is back again with an explosive single, Stallions. Featuring vocalist fknsyd, the collaboration is an uplifting premonition for what’s to come on the trio’s upcoming debut album. Although they’ve been releasing hit after hit for years, this single hints at a more refined sound. Following a solid reaction to their single Dummo Loop last month, Stallions makes it clear that the hype should be high for whatever’s next.
Above all else, Stallions is a high-energy track brimming with texture and flair. Triumphant layers of brass horns lend a pop of color over the track consistent with their previous releases. Distorted vocals and pitched-up synths cut into a glitchy dousing of bass. It’s an exhilarating ride with a clear nod to musical influences Skrillex and Porter Robinson. WAVEDASH breaks through the saturation of future bass to deliver a new breath of air.
WAVEDASH jumps on career, gains massive recognition
Straight out of high school from their home in Texas, WAVEDASH has made leaps in the bass scene since the project’s inception in 2015. They garnered early support from Porter Robinson, Excision, NGHTMRE and SLANDER. After earning the first release on the Gud Vibrations label run by SLANDER and NGHTMRE, the trio made themselves as an invaluable asset to the brand.
If this happens to be your first taste of the WAVEDASH boys make sure to check out their set from the Gud Vibrations virtual live stream. Set in the desert with a backdrop of epic proportions, each performance is nothing short of explosive. Between SVDDDEN DEATH, SLANDER, NGHTMRE, and Kraysh, WAVEDASH had one of the best sets of the night. For a set packed with remixes, unreleased tracks, and always a healthy dose of bass, the pyrotechnics were absolutely fitting.
You should expect great things in the career to come from WAVEDASH. They’ve got the world at their feet as they blur the boundaries of bass music in a truly refreshing way. While we anticipate their debut album forecasted sometime in 2021, we’ll be keeping tracks like Stallions on repeat. Listen to Stallions featuring fknsyd by WAVEDASH, out now on Gud Vibrations.
