Last week the first round of our fan-vote tournament to find the “Best Major PNW EDM Festival Lineup of 2010-2019” began. After several days of voting, we know which eight remaining lineups will feature in round two.
As a brief refresher, we decided to try and have some fun while figuring out which major festival lineup of the previous decade was truly the best. We narrowed the search to major PNW festivals that featured EDM heavily, and took place in either Washington or British Columbia between 2010 and 2019.
From there, we selected more than two-dozen lineups that stood out from the crowd. Then, thanks in part to a staff vote, we broke that group into two halves of a randomly drawn 16-lineup bracket. On one side, eight lineups from Washington. On the other side, eight lineups from British Columbia.
After the first round of voting, here’s what the bracket looks like as we head into the quarterfinals.
UPDATE: We had the first tie of the tournament this week, with FreakNight 2013 and Paradiso 2019 even on votes! The winner will advance to the Washington bracket finals against Paradiso 2016.
So, we added another 24 hours to vote on the matchup! After that (barring another tie) the final four will be set for when voting opens for the next round on Monday. Scroll down to the matchup below to have your voice heard!
Round Two Preview
Shambhala 2015 vs. Contact 2013
An early-favorite from the start, Shambhala 2015 delivered in round one against FVDED in the Park 2015. It won by the second widest margin overall, and the widest margin in the British Columbia bracket. Shambhala 2015 will now take on a festival that also defeated a lineup from FVDED in the Park in their first matchup.
One of two Contact Festival lineups to advance to round two, Contact 2013 defeated FVDED in the Park 2016 in its first matchup. The two lineups for Contact in round two puts them behind only Paradiso (3) for most lineups in the quarterfinals.

Pemberton 2014 vs. Contact 2018
Winning the closest matchup in round one, Pemberton 2014 defeated Seasons 2016 with 53.8% of the vote. Pemberton was the only multi-genre festival to win in round one, with Bumbershoot and Sasquatch both losing their first matchups. With the victory, it’ll now face the other Contact festival that advanced to round two, Contact 2018, which also defeated a Seasons Festival lineup, taking out Seasons 2015 with ease.

FreakNight 2013 vs. Paradiso 2019
FreakNight 2013 scored the biggest margin of victory in the entirety of the tournament in round one, recording 81.3% of the vote in their matchup with Bumbershoot 2015. Its next opponent, Paradiso 2019, also took down a multi-genre festival, soundly defeating Sasquatch 2012. Now, ‘Diso 2019, one of the most recent festivals in the tournament, will be looking to knock out another of the older festivals in the bracket.

Paradiso 2016 vs. Paradiso 2014
We knew Paradiso would do well in this tournament, but all three of their initial entries advancing to round two was a bit of a surprise. Maybe it shouldn’t have been, as each of the three lineups earned at least 70% of the vote in their matchups. Now, fans will have no choice but to knock out one of the all-time great Paradiso lineups.
