Neighbour, aka Matt Dauncey, Calgary-born but Vancouver transplant is one of BC’s top underground deep house producers. It’s hard to explain how critical Neighbour has been to the growth of the electronic dance music scene in Vancouver. This man has got his hand in every aspect. He is continuously planning rad events, bringing in new artists, collaborating, promoting, podcasting, dancing, and DJ’ing. You name it, he’s doing it. His music typically starts slow with a mysterious head-nodding type of sound and works its way up to a full on disco funk dance party. Catching one of his Bass Coast or Shambhala sunrise sets is definitely something you should add to your EDM bucket list. If you are ever in Vancouver you can creep Neighbour every Thursday at The Fox Cabaret.
Ryan Wells’ music is all about having a wholeheartedly dance-y good time. His sound takes you on a journey through techno and bass heaven that you never want to leave. If his music doesn’t make you feel like a wiggling slug, we’re not sure what will. Ryan Wells has cemented himself as one of the most prominent young DJ’s in Vancouver, opening for many large acts and of coursing rocking the stages at Shambhala and Bass Coast. On top of this he was one of the few non-Dirtybird artists to throw down at the inaugural Dirtybird Camp Out this past year.
