Finally inside, we quickly warmed up to the sounds of Botnek. Once we got to the Time Capsule main stage, the first thing we noticed was, well, the stage! Out of all the USC events we went to last year, their Reso stage was one of, if not, their most creative set up by far. When it comes to New Years, time is a common theme and this theme was on full display as the stage looked like the inner-workings of clock. A row of massive gears aligned the front of the structure, with one positioned high above the performers that was often lit with artist visuals. Behind the DJ booth were even bigger LED screens and giant speaker that bought the boom! We’re eager to see if USC can top this artistic marvel in 2017.

Walking around, we were delighted to see a Conscious Crew tent, equipped with artistic information cards, talking about the dangers of various drugs, amongst other things. Free ear plugs and candy canes were a treat as well! Who doesn’t like free?! The two CC representatives manning the booth were a joy to talk to and really knew their stuff. When it comes to harm reduction, USC is one of the best around. We hope more promotion companies across the globe recognize the importance of this subject and spread awareness at their respective events.

Another fun sight was the “chill room”. Serving as a quieter, brightly lit hang out spot, this spot was equipped with tables, chairs, balloons, blow ups, a couch, teddy bears and chalk boards to illustrate what your heart desires. Along with the stands, there were plenty of seats for attendees to take a break from the action. We didn’t stay long because we were ready to dance!
After getting familiar with the main stage area, it was time to head bang. To the Enchanted Forest we went!
