The latest track from Slovenian tech house giant Umek will be available on January 31st. The upcoming track Sweet Harmony is another collaboration between Umek and Spain’s Groovebox. Available on Beatport via Spinnin Records, Sweet Harmony is proof that the duo have more in them than a hit or two. They have worked together several times in the past, creating tech house perfection with Cause and Effect and Rock it Out.
Sweet Harmony drifts from the traditional Umek & Groovebox sound in previous collabs. Rather than a techno track with some house mixed in, Sweet Harmony is decidedly different. It features more of a classic house sound. The track also samples British dance artist Liquid’s 1991 track of the same title. Despite the obvious shift in style, the Umek trademark feel is still there. The driving beat, the high tempo, and the irresistible urge to move your body are all very much alive.

The teaser isn’t much. But for those who venture ‘Behind the Iron Curtain‘ or caught Umek’s set at FreakNight 2013, it’s enough to know that Sweet Harmony is a deserving addition to past productions. Check it out and let us know what you think of Sweet Harmony and whether or not it’ll be in your playlist come January 31st.
