After a disappointed crowd at Resolution 2014 left the event wondering why they weren’t able to see Above & Beyond perform at the WaMu Theater last New Year’s Eve, the next thing on their mind was when would they get another chance to see the trio perform. They received that answer relatively swiftly, as Above & Beyond played two (very reasonably priced) shows at the Showbox Sodo in mid-February, and were named as one of four headliners for Paradiso 2014 shortly thereafter. This marks the second trip to Paradiso for the Anjunabeats bosses, last seen at The Gorge in 2012. The trance legends are sure to be one of the biggest draws of the two-day festival, so make sure you arrive for their set early on Friday.
[highlight]Aly & Fila[/highlight]
One of the top duos in trance today, Aly & Fila is another exciting act that the PNW Trance Family will kick themselves for missing. The Future Sound of Egypt bosses performed at ASOT 650 at Ultra 2014 and will add Creamfields to their summer festival list later this year. Aly & Fila will also be releasing another artist album titled The Other Shore this summer. They were last seen in Seattle last summer, and before that in 2009. That being so, don’t miss your chance to see one of the most unique and talented trance acts in dance music today.
[highlight]Andrew Rayel[/highlight]
Young Moldovan wunderkind Andrew Rayel is arguably the most talented and exciting acts in dance music today, dubbed by Armin van Buuren himself as “trance music’s Mozart.” The Armada Music label prodigy of Armin released his first artist album titled Find Your Harmony on May 30th, and was featured at several of Armin van Buuren’s ‘ASOT 650 – New Horizons’ World Tour stops earlier this year. The opportunity to catch one of the brightest up-and-coming trance DJs in the world at the best venue the Northwest has to offer is one that you won’t want to pass up.

No stranger to the Northwest, Brian Transeau (aka BT) is the stamp of approval on the trance treasure heap that will be spread over two-days at Paradiso 2014. Playing in Seattle three times in 2013, there’s little doubt BT will bring out the best of what The Gorge offers as a scenic outdoor venue. He’s the closest thing to an electronic-musician as a human can be and, when it comes to his music, he does it all. The producer/DJ/instrumentalist/audio-tech has used his powers for good (thankfully for us) and elevated ‘electronic dance music’ with his every move. File BT neatly under “absolutely should not miss” if you find yourself in need of diverse trance that spans all sounds.
