While the entire entryway begged our eyes and ears’ attention in every direction, there was zero hope in trying to ignore the magnificence in our peripheral that was the main stage, even for the slightest moment. We caved like the helpless music junkies we are, and stood staring in astonishment. A castle-like structure framed out the entire width of the theater wall, dedicating the majority of the open floor plan just for the main stage. On either side of the DJ set -up were two gigantic LED screens spewing out bright, spiraling visuals that spun our minds into a hypnosis, and pulling us into it’s hold. The floor-pulsing bass matched the speed of our eager heartbeats as we stepped closer and toward the literal wide-open mouth of the stage, answering its overpowering call to let it take over control.
As we mazed our way through costumed freaks and fantasy fairies, a voice erupted through the air: “Freaknight.. are you ready for some God-damn Moombahton?!” The main stage crowd roared, lifting their paws and claws into the air as Moombah-King Dillon Francis welcomed Seattle with heavy bass accompanied by grinning cat visuals and violet laser lights. He conducted an incredible performance and pleased the pulsating crowd as they shook their bodies – some held up over-sized, comical caricatures of Dillon’s face. The air was bursting with high energy, and bold buildups cut through the air as we waited for the drop that would shake our brains into oblivion.
