Trance music has been making a lot of head way in the past year and is starting to get bigger and bigger (Like we had predicted). With that almost sudden rise in popularity and the recent successes of Bliss and Dreamstate, smaller local venues are starting to get some serious power houses coming through Seattle. The best part of it all is the spectrum that is being showcased in the Northwest. We have gathered all the best trance shows to see in Seattle upcoming for your convenience.
Arty @ Foundation Night Club (Nov 19)
Some would argue that Arty has steered away from trance music over the last couple of years, and that would be a very true statement if we focus purely on his productions. However his upbringing in the trance scene will always influence how he orchestrates his sets. You may hear some of the bangers that are doubled down on the radio every hour, but you will still get a healthy dose trance from this long time Anjunabeats veteran. This will be a “Let’s take a friend to a trance show” sort of set. To be fair, you have to ease them into it a little. You can’t just throw them into a Vini Vici set and expect them to get it.
Giuseppe Ottavani LIVE @ The Underground (Nov 23)
Oh Giuseppe, how we love thee. Giuseppe will be having probably the most stand out shows of the entire season in Seattle. He will be the only one providing a LIVE trance set that we know of so far. He sets the decks to the side and favors having midis, synths, and drum machines on the stage. Watching this master work is nothing short of amazing. Every set we have attended of his has left us in pure and utter bliss. It’s also the night before Thanksgiving, and it’s the best way to get ahead of the calorie burn you’ll need after gorging yourself on all the turkey day fixings. You will definitely have something to be thankful for this season.
Arctic Moon @ The Underground (Dec 9)
Arctic Moon is somewhat of a rare occurrence in Seattle. With only a handful of shows in the Puget Sound, he is always a welcome treat. His deck skills are matched by few, and he effortlessly provides a story throughout his set. Something that seems like only long time veterans will do anymore. So with a relatively fresh sound, coupled with an ever burgeoning trance scene, you could probably tell people someday about how you saw Arctic Moon at a small intimate club in Pioneer Square.
Alex Di Stefano @ The Underground (NYE)
FINALLY! It seems like every trance fan in the Seattle area has been begging for a show from Alex Di Stefano, and now we finally get him. No one on our team has seen Alex Di Stefano yet, but we are highly excited for this show. We honestly have no idea what to expect, but from his production skills and reviews we have received from our friends and colleagues, he is sure to not disappoint. Add to that the unknown factor, we can come in with whatever expectation we want and have a completely raw experience.
Above & Beyond @ Wamu Theater (Resolution, NYE)
Now how could you go wrong with having Above & Beyond at the WAMU Theater for Resolution NYE. Every time they have come to Seattle, they have provided a unique set that curtails to the Northwest audience. Add an incredible venue and a wealth of other genres in one setting, you’re bound to make the right choice. We could sit here and harp on you to go to this show and list more than 1,000 reasons why you should be there, but Above & Beyond speaks for themselves.
In a time when trance is starting to take over the music scene and its fan base, it’s a wonder to us that there aren’t more trance shows at other venues. But if trance isn’t your thing, you can head to our Club Hub and check out other local venues and genres to find the perfect fit for you. Have a safe and Happy Holidays!
