“Slowments” sounds a little like it’s spelled; drawn out and syrupy with muted synths that stick you right in the moment. It’s full of texture and layers while still creating a soundscape…think of an underwater soundtrack to mermaids on mushrooms.
If you haven’t noticed yet, we’re a little bit obsessed with music coming out of Australia lately here at Dace Music Northwest. Yes, there are many other artists out of the sunshine-continent that aren’t Flume; one of our favorites however come from the same Future Classic label, and he goes by Touch Sensitive. You may have heard his most popular track, “Pizza Guy” during the rainy months of Spring last year. (We had it on repeat for quite a while.) Now TS has returned with the first sight of the sun with a glittering and uplifting up-tempo tune. It’s imaginative, fresh, and everything we are looking for in a new tune. “Slowments” hits home with ethereal work, outstanding chopped vocal work that pairs perfectly with shining synths. Indulge yourself and press play for a wonderful surprise.
