The multitude of ways dance music can be enjoyed is one of the things that sets it apart from other styles of music. From singles and albums to live-sets and podcasts, DJs and producers release their songs and mixes in a variety of ways. One of the very best ways is with regular mixes, which are then generally uploaded to the interwebs for the masses to enjoy for free. These mixes have become a huge outlet for new tunes from artists in a variety of genres, and also provide fans hours of uninterrupted music from the artists they enjoy.
Mixes like Above & Beyond’s ‘Group Therapy’ and Armin van Buuren’s ‘A State of Trance’ have become regular listening material for many fans for years. But sometimes, you need something new, something different, or something a bit closer to home. In the Northwest, we’re lucky enough to have tons of talented producers and DJs putting out quality mixes and tunes regularly. So, we came up with a few new mixes with some Northwest ties to help you get through your first post-FreakNight 2014 weekend.

Fresh off of the successful release of their debut EP ‘Superhero’, formerly Boise-based duo Rubicon 7 are proving that they are in it for the long haul. The latest example is the 109th episode of their weekly radio show ‘Under The Influence’, which airs every Friday on Digitally Imported Mainstage at 9 am PST. The show is a great snapshot of current progressive and electro house from the always interesting perspectives of Brandon Scott and Elizabeth Thompson. Currently based out of Austin, Texas, Rubicon 7 will always be a Northwest favorite, especially with their reliably excellent mixes released each week.
