There’s no better way to cool down from the dry Sin City heat than spending an afternoon at the pool. It’s no wonder that pool parties have become a popular feature in the Vegas party scene. Among the top destinations for dayclubs are Encore Beach Club at the Wynn, Marquee Dayclub at The Cosmopolitan, and Wet Republic at MGM Grand. Residential Vegas staples like Tiesto and Avicii will be making an appearance poolside this year, along with more unlikely names like Above & Beyond and Flux Pavillion.
If this is your first time in Vegas, pool parties can be very tempting. We suggest hitting up the pools in the days leading up to EDC or afterwards to ensure you have enough energy for the main event. It goes without saying that sun, alcohol, and dancing can lead to dehydration and headstroke if you’re not responsible. Another important tip is to come early because the lines fill up fast and the pools can get very crowded. If you plan on attending a pool party, purchase your ticket as soon as possible as prices tend to skyrocket near the event.
If pool parties aren’t your scene, there are plenty of other club events and activities to check out while in Vegas. From Hakkasan at MGM Grand to Omnia at Caesars Palace, Vegas offers some of the world’s hottest nightclubs along the Strip. Disclosure and Jack Ü are among the list of artists headlining club events during EDC Week. Our friends at The Scene Is Dead have compiled an event calender, including both pool parties and club events that are taking place that week.
If you’re an industry professional or simply fascinated by the business-side of dance music, the 4th annual EDMbiz Conference & Expo will be held from June 16-18 at The Cosmopolitan. Registration for the conference will run you $369 for a regular badge or $249 for a student badge. Although on the pricey side, EDMbiz could offer great networking potential for anyone looking to get involved in the EDM industry. The conference features speakers and keynote presentations from world-class artists like Carl Cox to industry bigwigs like Live Nation CEO Michael Rampino.
