Following up their highly successful 2014 album Love, Death, Immortality, The Glitch Mob are releasing their latest original tunes. Earlier this year, the trio released a remix album of Love, Death, Immortality. The 18-track compilation featured re-works of their incredible album from the likes of Bassnectar, Mord Fustang, Nadastrom, and many more. But now, after a more than year-long wait, we have more original tunes from The Glitch Mob. The three-track EP, dubbed Piece of the Indestructible, is the quintessential sound we’ve come to know and love from the bass music titans, and is being released via their very own label, Glass Air Records.
The Northwest was also lucky enough to get a few stops from the trio earlier this summer. Kicking off their summer touring plans in Vancouver, and following that up with shows in Portland and at SASQUATCH! 2015, many in our region were given a sneak peek of the EP just a bit earlier than the rest of the world. They’ve already released the debut single off of the work, Better Hide, Better Run, and if it is any indicator of the rest of the EP, we’re in store more greatness from The Glitch Mob.
The release of the EP comes at a seemingly busy time for The Glitch Mob, who also recently released a remix of heavy metal legend Metallica’s Lords of Summer. Both The Glitch Mob, and Metallica, performed at The X Games in Austin earlier this month. Toss in a packed summer full of shows throughout North America, and festivals across Europe, and you have yourselves one of the hardest working acts in all of music. You can purchase Piece of the Indestructible via iTunes here, and check out their single from the EP, Better Hide, Better Run featuring Mark Johns below.
