The Freestylers, made up of Aston Harvey and Matt Cantor, are not at all new to groovy house music. With their newest original mix, The Sound, that shines through in spades. In the late 90s they discovered their mutual love for hip-hop, electro and beats. Coming out of London, UK, together they have covered all aspects of the genre for a decade and a half. For their newest effort, the duo joined forces with Chicago house pioneer Fast Eddie to bring you The Sound, along with a collection of killer remixes.
This particular remix EP gives us a healthy dose of variety that builds beautifully on the chilled-out vibes of the original, featuring reworks from the likes of Blapps Posse and Zoo Brazil. With The Sound, The Freestylers have created a unique blend of bouncy and funky to produce a collection you won’t be able to resist grooving the night away to. The end result: An throwback 80s house music feel tailored for a 2014 audience. Take a listen below and just take a journey back in time to the origins of our favorite music.
