Pretty much everyone up here in Seattle has heard of Dig-Dug, know to many as Doug McIntyre. If there’s one person who’s been responsible for building the scene as we know it today, it’s Doug. 15 years of developing USC Events have recently been followed by the next step in his career, working closely with Q Nightclub to promote all avenues of house and techno throughout their themed nights. As a DJ, he got his start in the mid-90s throwing down at house parties down in Portland, as he honed his craft living in the early rave scene.
He quite literally started off from producing in his bedroom, quickly developing into a name just about everyone in the region recognizes. The rest of course was history, with Doug getting in on the ground floor of dance music here in the Pacific Northwest. Hearing his interview with The Dance Music Diaries, we get a unique chance to hear directly from him about everything from his early days in Oregon to his move up to Seattle (you’d be surprised just much went down in Portland before he came north). Check the full interview below and follow The Dance Music Diaries every Thursday for new episodes!
