The 4 Toughest Set-Time Conflicts of Shambhala 2015

[divider]GRIZ VS. TIPPER VS. TERRAVITA + EXCISION[/divider]

A glance at the stage-by-stage lineup announcement paved the way for countless conflicts between The Pagoda and The Village stages. Few of those conflicts are as tough, in all of the best ways, as the one at 1 a.m. on the ‘Saturday’ of Shambhala 2015. At The Village stage, Terravita is performing from 12 a.m. – 1:30 a.m., and is followed by THE LORD GOD OF BASS (aka Excision) from 1:30 a.m. – 3 a.m. At The Pagoda stage GRiZ will be performing from 1 a.m. – 2:30 a.m., while Tipper’s second set of the weekend is at The Grove from 1 a.m. – 2 a.m.

Two of the best sets of the festival last year came from Terravita and Excision, and we won’t be missing out on their sets. But, that means we’d be missing GRiZ’s return, and Pagoda debut, while also denying ourselves of our first chance to catch Tipper at Shambhala 2015. So, we’re going to cheat, and say we’ll catch Tipper’s set on Sunday at 8:30 p.m. at The Living Room stage for conflict’s sake.

That leaves us with GRiZ, a favorite of many and a live-set that is everything we love about Shambhala. We’re going to have to reconcile this conflict by missing part of Terravita’s set, catching the beginning of GRiZ, and then making our way back to The Village when we feel the X’s calling. If you’ve seen Excision a time or two, or plan on attending Safe In Sound in Seattle (the only stop featuring Excision), then this decision could be a little easier. Also of note, the mystery headliner will be performing at The Pagoda after GRiZ, adding some value to sticking it out to the end of his undoubtedly fantastic set.

Our toughest conflict of the festival begins at 1 a.m. on the final night of Shambhala 2015. Surprise, it features an artist from The Pagoda and The Village stages. Navigating between stages for staggered set-times will be a key factor in settling all of the conflicts for many attendees, but none more so than during this conflict. On the mainstage, Kygo will be performing from 12:30 a.m. – 2 a.m., and is followed by Pretty Lights from 2 a.m. – 3:30 a.m. From 1 a.m. – 2:30 a.m., one of our ‘Don’t Miss’ artists in Jauz will be dazzling The Fractal Forest, while Zomboy is at The Village stage from 1:30 a.m. – 3 a.m.

After a few days of relatively simple and easy set-time conflicts, generally decided by genres of choice, Sunday night takes the cake. We don’t want to miss any of these artists, and the settling of this conflict will involve a lot of planning, timing, jogging, and ridiculous fun. Dancing your way between sets from the likes of these guys is what festivals like Shambhala are all about.

So, we’ll begin at The Pagoda with Kygo at 12:30 a.m., head over to Jauz at The Fractal Forest around 1-ish, then zip over to Zomboy at The Village for part of his set at 1:30 a.m., before arriving (promptly?) back at The Pagoda for Pretty Lights at 2 a.m. We’d rather get a taste of everyone than miss any of these acts, and we have a feeling that this will be our motto much of the weekend.
