This time last year we were gearing up to hit the mountain for Tall Tree Music Festival, one of the best little fests in the west. Taking place atop Brown’s Mountain nestled in Port Renfrew on the beautiful west coast of Canada, this festival had everything. Rock, hip hop, EDM, beer, and of course, those views. The lineups were expressly curated by a group of local music lovers and the attention to detail goes unmatched.
But this year, they decided to take a break, and many were curious about what’s next! Well, the folks at Tall Tree, never to really take a vacation, have come together with multiple avenues for you this summer, all taking place at the brand new venue, Laketown Ranch.
They already had an event the weekend of June 8th called Lake Days, celebrating the festival that the town of Lake Cowichan puts on every year, where the venue at. This event featured rock legends Trooper, as well as Deep Sea Gypsies, and DJ Anger and Primitive of Party People Sound Solutions (you may also recognize Anger from Shambhala Music Festival and his work with PK Sound!)
The event everyone we know is waiting for is the Labour Day weekend event Laketown Shakedown, featuring The Funk Hunters, Neon Steve, Mat the Alien, Illvis Freshly and many more. This event, lovingly referred to as Fall Tree, is going to be that hometown feel you loved about Tall Tree, while staying true to the roots of the lake town it’s taking place in.
Tickets are available here, and check out the full lineup below!
We’re gonna miss Brown’s Mountain this year, but we know the Tall Tree folks have us covered either way.
Who are we going to see this summer at Laketown Ranch?! Let us know in the comments!
