Making a strong statement to end the year, Tacoma’s R0ME, otherwise known as Ramon Jones, has released his debut EP, Brainstorm. Opening up the Bass Asylum stage on day one of FreakNight 2014 and going B2B with Seattle’s Treyis on the Majestic As Fak tour, R0ME still has big plans for the rest of 2014. Brainstorm is three tracks and is R0ME’s first official foray into music production. DJing since 2008, Jones began producing music in 2010 and has now decided the time is right to show what he’s learned over the years.
Brainstorm is available as a free download and is the first step in a journey that R0ME is well prepared for. He’s already announced plans for his next EP, Winter Solstice, which is due out December 21st. But, it’s important to make a good first impression, and R0ME has certainly done that with Brainstorm. The effort and care put into every second of each track is clear, without sounding like he’s trying to do too much. With a polished, distinct sound, R0ME is able to achieve a rawness that shines through his productions. His bass-infused style, which ranges from trap to drum & bass and everything in between, is a sound for sore ears, and we can’t wait to see what his future holds.
