Russian Trio Swanky Tunes have been at the forefront of Electronic music since 2011 when they released their massive Big Beat collaboration with R3hab and Max’C known as Sending My Love. They continued forward making a massive statement with other tracks that shortly followed including a remix of Kaskade’s Eyes and their Maximal Crazy remix with R3hab. All tracks we recognize right? But did you know Swanky Tunes was formed all the way back in 1998?
Vadim Shpak, Dmitry Burykin and Stanislav Zaytsev formed Swanky Tunes in Smolensk, Russia, not too far away from Moscow. They actually have a long history of experimenting with many different sounds of electronic music. All the way from Techno to 80’s electro and house. They released their debut album Streamline in 2006, but they didn’t perform as a trio behind a DJ booth on decks. They played live instruments! Keyboard, guitar, live vocals – they did it all. Click here to see for yourself! Another odd fact? Vadim is actually a cousin of Alexander Shopovalov who belongs to another famous Big Beat trio known as Hard Rock Sofa.
Speeding back up to 2014, Swanky Tunes have had quite the summer. They’ve toured the world and recently released a few new tunes including an edit of Arston‘s single Star Warz and a Flamingo Recordings release entitled Fix Me featuring the beautiful vocals of Raign. Now they’re headed to the Pacific Northwest ready to take on the Emerald City’s Foundation Nightclub. This isn’t a show to miss.
