Were you still #turndownforcouch after Resolution, and unable to muster the strength to go to Foundation in Seattle for Suspect 44’s appearance at the January 3rd Resolution Recovery party? You aren’t alone, and you can thank your lucky stars, as their recorded set was just posted on Soundcloud. These guys always throw down when they’re here, which is no surprise, given that member Luke Shipstad hails from Bainbridge Island, right across the water from our beloved emerald city.
The set is full of the delicious house goodness the trio is known for, with remixes and originals interspersed with some mellower moments, giving you a chance to catch your breath. The intro builds with Knife Party’s Begin Again and the glorious vocals of Rob Swire, and quickly gets us in dance mode with a more uptempo version of Clean Bandit’s Rather Be. We are always happy to see artists from the northwest making waves on the national and international scene, and with recent recognition from such favorites as Above and Beyond, Hardwell, Tritonal, W&W and more, these guys show no sign of slowing down.
We can only hope that they’ll be back soon, perhaps a summer festival appearance is in the cards for them. Give the set a listen below, and let us know in the comments what you think. If you were one of the ones who was able to peel yourself off of the couch to make it, let us know which parts of the set you loved reliving the most!
