A beautiful gold no sew tutu
It’s a fact of life. Tutus and rave girls (and some awesome guys) go together like peas and carrots or peanut butter and honey. Or mac and cheese and ketchup if you’re really weird. What some of you may not know is how freaking easy it is to make one of these suckers. The supply list can be as simple as a length of elastic, a safety pin, and craploads of tulle, or you can get a little fancier with it and add trim and other embellishments to it depending on just how much time and creativity you have. You’d be amazed how much power one can have when wielding a glue gun.
Once you’ve mastered one tutu it’s hard to resist making one for every event. Tulle comes in a rainbow in colors so it’s all too easy to match any theme. Not that any of our writers have a closet full of tutus and fluffies or anything…ahem. Check the link here for instructions on how to make your tutu and let us know how it goes. For supplies we suggest Stitches fabric store on Capitol Hill in Seattle, Pacific Fabric in the Seattle area, Fabric Depot for the Portland area, and JoAnn and Michaels if you’re still stuck.
Bonus: Joann and Michael’s both have coupons available directly from their websites, and JoAnn has an iPhone/Android app!
