Our favorite bright and groovy group of Portland based producers, STRFKR have finally kicked off their North American tour. Briefly known as Pyramiddd, STRFKR has turned our rainy days here in the Northwest into hours of sunshine with their vivid and bright electronic grooves and optimistic lyrics. Created in 2007, STRFKR quickly rose to fame with their song, Rawnald Gregory Erickson the Second (2008) that was used in Target‘s “Pink Pepto” commercial in 2009. Remember it? Quickly after that, STRFKR started to pop up all over the place with more notable appearances in Weeds, The Blacklist, and Skins. STRFKR just kicked off their North American tour in Seattle last weekend with Grouplove, Portugal, The Man, Typhoon, and Tokyo Police Club for this year’s Honda Civic Tour. In lieu of getting on board the tour, STRFKR whipped up a catchy and highly addicting (we’ve had it on repeat for the last hour) remix of Grouplove’s I’m With You. Drifting on top of a playful melody, smooth vocals float right into a choir of Ah’s and Oh’s. It’s perfect for wrapping up the final days of summer, where the sun still warms your skin and dancing in your swimsuit is still acceptable.
