Towards the end of July, when Giraffage and Slow Magic, two of the most notable figures in the world of pleasant, indietronica-inspired electronic music, announced the first leg of dates for their co-headlining “So Cute! Tour,” northwestern EDM fans were gritting their teeth in anticipation of Pacific Northwest stops. And lucky for all of us, the duo recently announced the second leg of dates for their tour, which include two stops each in Washington and two dates in British Columbia.
With this announcement also came the release of a new collaborative track from the duo, the titular “So Cute!” a radiant, explosive piece of beat music, heavy on side-chained kicks and high-pitched vocal samples. The track works its way through many different phases throughout its three-minute runtime, and is one of the more multi-faceted numbers either artist has ever released. “So Cute!” does truly feel like a marriage of these two artists’ styles, combining Giraffage’s usual deliriously cheery vibe with Slow Magic’s more desolate, ominous musical atmosphere. The track is available for free download at this location.
Lindsay Lowend is set to support the duo during the Seattle and Bellingham stops on the tour, at The Showbox and Wild Buffalo, respectively. Advanced tickets for the Seattle date can be found here, while the Bellingham date can be found here.
