When New York remixes Australia, it’s bound to be good. But this time, the Melbourne boys aren’t the ones adding the bounce.. The remixers, DJ and production duo Live City of NYC, have put their own progressive house stylings to the test on one of their favorite Aussie 4-piece bands, Strange Talk. The track, Climbing Walls, is an 80s-inspired, modern-day alternative pop hit in its original form, similar to what we might hear from artists like Empire Of The Sun. The remix, however, is a rich house track that develops into a bouncy free-for-all, with a grungy-synth lead that bends and twists throughout the chorus break. “This track is at times sexy, at others aggressive, and has peak moments of weirdness, just how we like it,” they add in the remix’s description. In order for fans and new listeners to get a feel for what their upcoming EP will consist of, they are giving away their remix of Climbing Walls for free. Their EP will be released next month on The Disco Fries‘ label, Liftoff Recordings.
