Lots of you might be familiar with Jon Gooch as Feed Me. However, there is a lesser known alter-ego, known as Jon’s drum n bass personality, Spor. Recently, Spor let out a lot of information regarding his new album, full of glorious bass goodies. Having been focusing on producing and touring as Feed me recently, we are glad Jon is stepping back to his roots and changing things up a bit. Very little is known about the album, including the release date, record label, and even the title, but we expect the album to drop by the end of 2014. We are super stoked for 2015 and whether or not a full tour (and customized setup?) will follow. First, Jon announces he is in the mastering stages of delivering his new Spor album and makes it clear he doesn’t want to do interviews, mixes or exclusives.
I am mastering an album as @spor

It's been a long time coming, but it feels right now.

Jon then gets into what dealing with the DNB scene is like and how quickly things can turn against you in this business, and that having musical freedom is a priority for him.
I stopped D&B because I wanted more musical freedom. But also because it's a scene monopolised by greed

I watched label bosses headline over their own premiere acts on launch day, got told I was lucky to get paid at all
— Feed Me (@feedme) October 21, 2014
What did his fans think about this? Jon explains more in depth about how the fans dealt with the DNB movement, what was going on at the time, and how easily someone’s career could crumble before them.
I watched as even fans didn't like change and the scene's top talent moved to new ground to avoid negativity and unprofessionalism

I watched annual awards go to the same old people, and new talent get slung into manipulative contracts that squashed their careers
— Feed Me (@feedme) October 21, 2014
Although there was lots of drama underneath a lot of his shows, Jon’s love for DNB and the scene in general were always there.
Frustrating to have a scene you love coupled with a business sense you hated. On the other hand @mau5trap set me free, real world ethics
— Feed Me (@feedme) October 21, 2014
Jon ended with saying he has ‘zero interest in EDM’ and just wants to be in his own category.
To clarify, I have zero interest in 'EDM', and I've always felt that Joel signed me because I was interesting. Hopefully that's the point
