Carl Cox & Friends
Carl Cox is a legend, and there’s not many other ways to put it. He’s been a mainstay for decades in an industry and scene that has shifted and changed dramatically. His first single, I Want You (Forever) was released in 1991, and his latest album, entitled All Roads Lead to the Dancefloor, was released in 2011. His productions helped define and curate the sound and style of techno. DJing professionally since his teens, his skills on the decks are something to behold. We will know more soon about the ‘& Friends’ aspect of Cox’s Northwest appearance, but his name alone is reason enough to purchase a ticket.

Art Department
Art Department is a Canadian duo made up by Jonny White and Kenny Glasgow. Since beginning their project in 2009, it’s been nothing but success for Art Department, whose 2010 hit Without You set the tone for future quality productions. They’ve played festivals and shows across the world, such as EDC, Coachella, and Lollapalooza while their last appearance in the Northwest came in September of 2013 at Decibel Festival. Arguably one of the most talented acts at FreakNight 2014, Art Department will be a set that once you start, you won’t leave.
J. Phlip
Recently performing at What The Festival at the Wolf Run Ranch in Oregon, J. Phlip returns to the Northwest for FreakNight 2014. J. Phlip, aka Jessica Phillippe, hails from Champaign, Illinois and will be bringing her Chicago-infused house style to the WaMu theater next month. She’s currently based out of San Francisco and works closely with Claude Von Stroke’s Dirtybird Records. J. Phlip describes experiencing her live set as “You’ll be surprised, energized, and occasionally weirded out”, which couldn’t be more perfect for USC Event’s annual FreakNight Festival. Get down with J. Phlip at FreakNight if you’re down to move around and get a little weird!
John Digweed
In an era where ‘EDM’ is as mainstream as any musical genre and the art of DJing is lost on many, John Digweed stands out. Beginning his craft at age 15, the Britain-native rose to the heights of dance music by the mid-90s, finding a successful partnership with Welsh DJ Alexander Coe, aka Sasha. Digweed has since created his own record label, Bedrock Records, and toured the globe at a seemingly constant rate. Arguably the most talented DJ on the lineup, don’t miss the legendary John Digweed’s set at FreakNight 2014!
