Labor Day weekend is here and with it comes a strong urge to wring every last bit out of summer that we can. Some of us are mourning the impending loss of the summer heat while others of us are greatly looking forward to hoodies, pumpkin spice lattes, and indoor shows. No matter which end of the spectrum you fall under we have plenty of great Labor Day weekend events to help you celebrate the weekend to its fullest.
The event that some of us are most stoked on is Porter Robinson at WaMu Theatre on Friday, August 29. Tickets are still available for the Worlds Tour stop in Seattle and we look forward to singing (and lets be honest, crying a bit) during Sad Machine. Checkout our writeup on the show and get to know the music on the beautiful new album you’ll get to hear live tonight. Don’t have your tickets yet? Ticketmaster still has some available online, or you can try your luck with the CenturyLink box office until they sell out.
Would you rather avoid the inevitable and spend one last weekend playing outside? Seattle’s famous Bumbershoot is giving EDM some major love this year through a partnership with USC Events. We’ve broken down the Bumbershoot EDM artists to help you plan your adventure for the weekend though we also strongly encourage you to branch out and explore some of the other artists performing as well. With Bumbershoot you never know who may be just about to make a big break, and then you’ll be able to proudly proclaim you were one of the first to see them! Bumbershoot runs August 30th-September 1st. Bumbershoot tickets are available online or onsite, buy for just one day or the whole weekend!
Don’t want to go to a big festival or massive show? Have no fear, our friends at Foundation Nightclub have you covered with the “Heaven Trap” sounds of Slander for Resonate Friday, August 29th and the genre-bending trance sounds of Heatbeat for Progression Saturdays on August 30th. Foundation always brings a good time and many of our staff are frequent fliers of that venue.
