It has been a wild and weird week in the electronic music scene. Throughout the last few days, there has been one thing that set our priorities straight. One thing that has given us balance in this new and crazy world… Something Comforting, the appropriately titled latest release from Porter Robinson.
This is now the second single from Porter Robinson’s upcoming 2020 album. We still don’t have a release date for Nurture, but we will let you know the moment we find out. With the release of a second single, it’s easy to guess that Robinson is on a release schedule. We might hear the new Porter Robinson album sometime between June and November.
Something Comforting shows us the distorted and higher pitched vocals that Robinson introduced us to in Get Your Wish. The vocal solo towards the end even shows us glitching between Porter’s natural voice and the edited Nurture Voice.
Robinson talked in depth about his new single in a Twitter Video.

We learn that Robinson first produced the instrumental drop for Something Comforting in 2016. It took years because Porter Robinson wanted to improve his song writing, and singing. Robinson wanted to create something he was proud of. He created a masterpiece.
