With coronavirus fallout bearing down hard on the dance music scene, fans have been devastated with the multitude of their favorite shows being either cancelled or postponed. To help during this time of event closures, EDM Identity has curated an ongoing list of artist livestreams.
As the entire dance community copes with losses to shows and revenue, the news cycle continues to reveal how much this pandemic is truly affecting our scene. If there’s one thing that the electronic community excels at, it is coming together through adversity and sharing freely, and that is precisely what’s happening online.
It is meaningful to see the responses from promoters, artists, venue owners, and the industry choosing to live stream and give support to each other as events unfold.
There’s such a flurry of streams that have already begun, including massive performances from Doc Martin and Maceo Plex at Factory 93, along with others like Ultra Music Festival announcing their own stream this weekend.
Artists joining them include: Diplo, Charlotte De Witte, JAUZ, Mija, Protohype, and more stepping up with their own streams while Space Yacht has taken a stance of communicating and informing the community about news.
So many of these streams have popped up with little warning, but as the outbreak continues to grow in length, it’s almost a sure thing that more inventive ways to get music out there will continue to emerge.
Right now, there are a number of virtual festivals already planned, community-led watch parties, and more that continue to be announced by the day.
Make sure to check back as this list may grow and continue to be updated!
