Korean pop music is on the rise around the world, and Skrillex will tap into some of that audience as he collaborates with CL, former member of one of the biggest girl groups in Korea, 2NE1. CL has previously contributed to Skrillex’s album Recess on the track, Dirty Vibe, and now Skrillex returns the favor on CL’s debut solo album in the United States. The album also boasts a collaboration with Diplo, as the trio (Skrillex, Diplo, and CL) have been good friends for quite some time now. Korea is a nation that thrives on EDM, as it’s home to some of the hottest clubs and is a constant tour stop for big name DJs. Bringing on someone who already has strong name recognition with this fan base is a smart move for Skrillex. This will serve to broaden his scope and reach more listeners.
As a duo, Diplo and Skrillex are going all out with the hip hop collabs, as they have recently released news that they will be working with rapper Big Sean as well.
