Earlier today, Shambhala Music Festival released most of the acts playing at the widely popular festival. Each passing year, it seems the lineup gets more diverse and competitive compared to some of the other festivals around the Northwest and Canada. This year, we are completely blown away with some of the acts they managed to book.
Although Bassnectar officially announced he would be on their 2014 lineup months ago, today was the day our patience paid off, amid waiting for the rest of the headliners to be announced. Not only were the big headliners announced, but tons of soon-to-be-breakout-artists were announced as well.
Headliners this year along with Bassnectar are: Andy C, Beardyman, Datsik, Caked Up, Beats Antique, Excision, Griz, Justin Martin, Kill Paris, Liquid Stranger, Moby, Mt Eden, Ookay, Opiuo, Pegboard Nerds, Skream, Terravita, Z-Trip and several others. Supporting DJ’s on the lineup include Getter, Gorgon City, and Grandtheft as well as our local favorites Odesza and Donald Glaude. The final announcements will be released on April 8th, but this should be enough to convince you that Shambhala is not one to miss this summer.
More and more festivals keep popping up every year looking for a way they can thrive. Shambhala has remained strong since 1998 because it proves to be very different than the majority of the festivals you see nowadays. Unlike slightly larger festivals like Sasquatch! or Coachella and literally hundreds of other festivals around the world, Shambhala is driven year after year through the support of their volunteers. Advertising is never paid for and is always through word of mouth.
Along with the unique stage setups they bring year after year, we can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us this time around! You can browse the full list of confirmed 2014 artists and check out tickets here.
