It may only be Spring, but that hasn’t done anything to temper our excitement about Shambhala this August. As one of the best festival experiences you’ll ever find, it’s a festival unafraid to push boundaries when it comes to its lineups. Last year, we were treated to an intimate set from Skillrex in the PK Sound-run Village, sunrise jams from Mija at the Pagoda, and the long-awaited return of Pretty Lights to the Farm. It’s time to look to the future now though: The Shambhala 2016 lineup has officially arrived.
This year’s slate of artists, while lacking in the headliner appeal of someone like Skrillex, isn’t short on major talent. Caspa b2b Rusko, Ephwurd, Marshmello, Snails, Questlove, and Sub Focus all grace the list of artists, along with lots of other Farm favorites. Funk fans are likely to be especially happy; you won’t see many lineups with all of The Funk Hunters, JPOD, Stickybuds, A.Skillz, The Noisy Freaks, Defunk, OPIUO, and Neon Steve.
Notably absent this year are Shambhala regulars like GRiZ, Terravita, and Datsik (instead opting for an Ephwurd set). Even so, it’s left the door open for a host of exciting newcomers that we can’t wait to see on the Farm for the very first time. If you’re looking to join us at Shambhala this year, you’ll have to go on something of a quest — the festival recently announced the fastest sellout in its history, making the only place to find tickets the Shambhala Ticket Exchange on Facebook. With a lineup like this though, trust us when we say it’ll be more than worth it.
