The Seattle house scene is alive and flourishing, with DJs and clubs moving away from the commercial craze and into the deeper side of electronic music. Some of our favorite sets of the weekend come from our local residents like Foofou, Rion and Troy Crowder who know just what “EDM in Seattle” really encompasses. It only makes sense that a label would soon sprout in the heart of the rainy city; one that focuses on the deep, rich sounds of house music.
This is exactly what Build It Deep, one half of Build It Records, is all about. While this marks only the second EP from the new Build It Deep branch, today’s summer-ready release of Joe Macc‘s Solstice EP is filled to the brim with UK garage and deep house elements, and is setting the standard impressively high for a label so early in development.
Joe Macc resides in Australia, where exceptional sounds in electronic music often stem from. With less than 400 followers on Soundcloud (before this release), Joe Macc is also in the sprouting stages, but with big talent that surpasses most in the deep house and garage realms. Upon first listen of the single SLO Down, we weren’t convinced that this hasn’t already been signed to the Anjunadeep label or featured as Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune on BBC Radio 1. Don’t miss out on this release by snagging the Solstice EP on Beatport right here.
Build It Records co-founder and Foundation resident DJ Tyler Brown knows exactly the direction he wants Build It Deep to go, and Joe Macc is a promising sign that the label has a vibrant and lasting future ahead.
