If your taste in electronic music leans towards melodic, downtempo house then you need to check out JDJoslin. PNW born and Seattle based JDJoslin is the solo alias of singer/songwriter/producer Jon Joslin. Living in a musical hub like Seattle tends to give its inhabitants a creative edge, and JDJoslin is no different. Since establishing himself in the Seattle area in 1990, JDJoslin became a self-taught musician. For the past decade he’s remained there writing and creating music; seldom his works were released, until now.
JDJoslin’s recent release Eqos caught our attention as a standout track that’s perfect for laid-back listening. Diving into a slower pace shows a dedication to perfecting the atmosphere of a song. Within Eqos you’ll hear JDJoslin’s own soulful vocals, portraying the wistfulness of wandering ones. Sure to tug at the heartstrings Eqos is composed of detailed percussive beats, rhythmicly layered and masterfully done. An intriguing aspect of Eqos is how well the opposing elements blend. A warm, harmonious melody coupled with a wishful tone is always nice on the ears.
