What already seemed liked the perfect mix of talent, deep house producer Duke Dumont took to the stage and switched things up a bit. By this time, the crowd had found its groove and were ready to turn it up a notch, and like clockwork the lasers kicked on shortly after, which meant this party was fully under way. Dropping hits like The Giver, I Got U and Need U, we were loving the vibes Duke Dumont was putting out. After a full hour of house music gems, it was time to close out the last main event of Seasons 2016.
We’d be lying if we said we weren’t excited to see our hometown heroes, Odesza, take the stage and close out the night. Regardless of how many times we’ve been able to see them, they never cease to put on an amazing show, and for the 2nd night in a row a live performance took the headlining spot. Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight were joined by a full horn section, and jumpstarted their set with their In Return intro, which some of the crowd may have remembered from their tour a few months back in January. The intro then lead into Koto after a quick thanks from Harrison and Clayton.
Anyone who has had the opportunity to see Odesza perform live will tell you the experience is nothing short of electric. Same as the night before, the build-up to such a perfect end to the main event was clearly one that had be thoroughly thought out, as well as perfectly executed. Ending the night on their remix of Alex Adair’s Make Me Feel Better, we couldn’t have asked for anything more fitting.
Continuing the tradition of the afterparty, Celebrities surprised us with SNBRN and Thomas Jack. We went full tropical until 4am, and even got a little B2B action from the two before the night was over. The following day was the 5th and final one of Seasons 2016, and we decided to make Matoma our closing act. Overally, it was a great finish to an amazing 5 days of music that has us looking forward to the rest of festival season, and beyond to Seasons 2017.
We highly suggest anyone who was on the fence for purchasing a ticket not hesitate next year. Dollar for dollar, we felt we got every penny’s worth of the cost of our 5-day wristband. A few things we took away from the event for next year:
- Get tickets in advance and save money
- DO NOT miss the after-parties
- Try to hit up multiple venues
- Arrive to the main events early, or pay the extra for VIP (you get a separate entrance)

Avid adventure, and full time wild thing. Lover of all types of music but hold those that make me want to shake my rumpus close to my heart.
