Ravers from across the country gathered in Tacoma, Washington for the second year of Cyclops Dome in November, a three-day event organized by international DJ and producer, Subtronics. Cyclops Dome brought thousands of EDM fans to the Tacoma Dome Arena for a curated lineup of well-known artists and multiple performances from Subtronics. However, just a few blocks from the Tacoma Dome, a local events group put on their own event and gave attendees some local hospitality and talent.
Resurgence’s Oculus event brings the best of the PNW underground
Washington-based company Resurgence Events put on Oculus, a three-day afterparty for Cyclops Dome featuring some of the Pacific Northwest’s best local talent. From November 15-17, hundreds of people took the short walk from the Tacoma Dome to the Freighthouse Square. Oculus ran from 11 pm to 4 am throughout the weekend to keep the party rolling. Resurgence utilized the full potential of the Freighthouse Square with three stages and dance floors, each with hours of dubstep, riddim, and heavy bass DJs all night long.

Besides allowing dozens of local DJs and producers to share their art with hundreds of people, Resurgence also showed some love for local businesses around Tacoma. Oculus highlighted local artists and vendors to sell food, clothing, and rave accessories. Overall this event represented multiple sides of the PNW EDM scene. It showed Cyclops Dome ravers what Washington had to offer.
For three nights, attendees got to see dozens of DJs perform from across the PNW music scene. On Sunday night, Oculus hosted a surprise special guest performance from riddim legend Subfiltronik. Oculus attendees had only good things to say about the event. From the stage production and sound systems, to the artists and special guest, locals and visitors alike appreciated the dedication and quality of Resurgence.
If you missed this event’s afterparty, don’t fret. Resurgence Events will host a similar afterparty event following Excision’s Thunderdome in Tacoma on February 7 to 9. For more information, visit the Resurgence Events instagram.
